DIVISION 7/STAR RACING/YAMAHA RACE REPORT
MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS
ROUND 2, PHOENIX
The AMA Supercross Series moved the slightest bit out of California over the weekend racing in front of 39K+ fans at Chase
Field in Phoenix, Arizona. Star Racing/Division 7/Yamaha talents #164 Michael Hall and #207 Sean Collier adapted to the
technical track quickly setting qualifying times that slated them respectively into the night portion of racing.
Up first in qualifying Heat 1 was Hall, who jumped out front with a monstrous holeshot. Leading the way, a heated battle
with last year’s Lites East Champion ensued. Going toe to toe, our rookie kept pace until the competitor went for a
questionable move exiting the whoops. This resulted in the taking of both riders clear off the track and to the ground. Hall
was able to remount, but he faced an insurmountable gap which meant he would have to try his luck in the LCQ. Also,
experiencing his fair share of troubles was Collier, who would be joining his teammate in a second attempt at qualifying for
the main event.
The always dramatic LCQ took to the track, and drama it was. The quick learning Hall, once again rocketed out front only to
yet again have his wheels knocked from underneath him by a unfortunate move out of his control. Collier to, again faced a
tough go in advancing and finished out in 6th.
This Wednesday, be sure to catch our team riders signing autographs for more Supercross fans at Chaparral Motorsports in
San Bernardino CA from 6-8pm.
Star Racing thanks our valued sponsors for their great assistance.
