JGRMX TOYOTA/YAMAHA
DAYTONA RESULTS

MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS
ROUND 10, DAYTONA

Daytona International Speedway has been a regular stop for the Joe Gibbs Racing’s NASCAR operations since 1992, and
was the site of their first victory with Dale Jarrett driving the Interstate Batteries car in the 1993 Daytona 500.  Daytona is
also the longest–running round of the AMA Supercross Championship.  In fact, Daytona was hosting supercross prior to the
start of the series itself.  Promoter Bill West was hosting races at the speedway as early as 1970 (the AMA Supercross
Championship started in 1972).

Saturday, March 7 marked the second time JGRMX Toyota/Yamaha raced what is known as the toughest supercross of the
series.  Last year’s Daytona supercross was arguably the wettest, muddiest event in the history of the tour.  This year the
weather was perfect for round 10 of the AMA Supercross Championship.

Cody Cooper sat out Daytona to allow his knee to completely heal before starting to train and ride again.  He has repeatedly
injured the knee since the start of the series, and team manager Jeremy Albrecht wants Cooper to be fully healed before
competing again.

For the first time this season Josh Grant had problems qualifying.  The rookie had difficulty in his heat race, and then
suffered a hard crash in the last chance qualifier, failing to make the main event.  A preliminary evaluation has shown no
serious injury and Grant is expected to race in the upcoming event in New Orleans.  Without earning points in round 10,
Grant moves to sixth in series points.  After 10 of 17 rounds the Supercross Class (450cc) standings are:

1. Chad Reed 224 (two wins)
2. James Stewart 213 (seven wins)
3. Andrew Short 163
4. Ryan Villopoto 153
5. Ivan Tedesco 140
6. Josh Grant 138 (one win)
